Doc Coleman Landing
Pollinator Habitat Project
A community project creating habitat for pollinators, wildlife, and future generations
In 2021, the DeKalb County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) approached the County Commissioners with a proposal to transform approximately one acre of turfgrass at Doc Coleman Landing into a pollinator habitat. The area had previously been maintained through regular mowing and offered an opportunity to create valuable wildlife habitat while serving as an outdoor educational resource for the community. The Commissioners approved the project, and DeKalb SWCD began site preparation.
